Beginnings and Endings

8 Endings are better than beginnings.
Sticking to it is better than standing out.

I read this verse this morning and it said something to me! It's always easy to start something but harder to finish. Isn't that true?

January 1st is full of good intentions as we sprint out of the gate with our eyes on the finish line, but staying the course is harder and by August it would be rare, I think, for many to still be in the race. We are, and I know it's because of our mutual support.

I had a busy week last week and didn't post my weight. It was 151.2, and today I weighed 151.4.
I'm feeling like I want to renew my focus on my goal, put my head down, and go for it.

My goals are:
Exercise at least three times a week for an hour of walking.
Indoor exercises with weights at least 4 times a week--arms and legs.
Lose the final 7 pounds.
Get at least 6 hours sleep a night, but mostly 7 (I'm not kidding, this would be a big improvement :) )

I've made a new Excel schedule and it looks like a place of safety and health for me because I've scheduled in rest as well as activity.

Here's to a wonderful and healthy fall. I know it's not here quite yet and I'm not rushing summer; but I'm gearing up for the next step.

Belinda,

Way to go for scheduling in rest. That is such a key to health yet one we quickly neglect when our schedules get over-loaded.

What an encouragement for you to press in and schedule your healthy lifestyle for the fall.

That's my intention as well over the next 2 weeks. Thanks for the inspiration.

Good job Belinda. I have been sick as a dog for weeks so I'm not monitoring my weight, but the fall promises to be a time with lots of bike rides.

Hey Shan, No fun being sick. Are you ok? I mean, getting enough rest, good food, etc.

And Joyful, yes, normally I even "schedule" my fun. How anal is that? Now that I have "rest" here and there on the schedule, it feels like, wow, I can read, or I can watch tv, or I can sleep, or write, or actually go to sleep! :) I know that you of all people need to factor in rest. You are the schedulest person I know!

Hi Belinda,

It has been awhile, but I started with packing a lunch for tommorow for work and I am going to take a step in the right direction. The season is here, I am going to start this week with a plan, drinking 6-8 waters daily and packing my lunch and journaling everything i put into my mouth. Feel free to ask me how it is going, I need the accountability factor.

Hey Libby,
That plan sounds great! I will ask you how it's going. We can enourage one another.
